Antique 9 carat Gold diamond navette ring with 1.21 carats old cut diamonds

 DESCRIPTION

Antique Victorian navette ring with 1.21 carats of natural mined diamonds in a mix of old cuts set in 9 carat white gold on a later replacement 9 carat yellow gold shank hallmarked for 1964/1965 Birmingham, England.

 The ring face dates from late Victorian 1870s when navette rings were very popular, and the shank is a later replacement.  The navette face is packed with a beautiful mix of old cut diamonds.  The majority are old mine cut diamonds with high tables and deep pavilions.  There are a few old round cuts diamonds and one round brilliant cut diamond.  The colours range from white colourless to warm G to M.

ERA: Victorian (1837 – 1901) qith a later shank dated 1964.

CONDITION

This piece is in very good antique condition with an antique patina and light wear commensurate with age and use.  The stone has no obvious chips or losses and the settings are secure.  There’s no evidence of resizing or restoration.  It is ready to wear.
